I am also getting an additional 1.6 MPG. When I don't put my foot to far down. LOL Now, my police model Tahoe, gets to the scene, with out any "hesitation". It boosted HP, torque and MPG on my Sons truck as well. Firming up and setting the shift points should put less strain on the transmission, as well as the engine.
